This is a family heirloom. I found it in my grandmother's attic in Cleveland about 40 years ago. She thought it might have belonged to her recently deceased sister, and didn't know anything about it. After all this time, I still do not know what this bottle, or flask, was used for. It is only about 3" long. The lid is a very realistic fish head, made of metal. It flips open and there is a metal collar covering the glass. The glass part is a pretty green, and there is a white powdery residue inside. On the inside of the head, I noticed initials C A S or G A S, they are very small and very hard to read. I thought it might be a snuff bottle. Even though it is small, it is not dainty. If anyone can tell me what a bottle like this could have been used for, I'd love to know.

It is how we found it, never cleaned it out. The inner metal collar has some kind of dried out adhesive holding it to the glass. I didn't want to weaken it, so we didn't clean the bottle.

I think it is a Perfume Bottle. Art Deco. It's really lovely!! They used to make them in this oval shape like this and often animals included in the design. I would keep it, it's a lovely treasure.
