    This is unusual subject matter in 19th century photography.

    The cabinet card shows a hen and several chicks at her feet and a few on her back. I am not sure of the name for this type of chicken.

    The cabinet card was photographed by Glines of Hutchinson, Kansas and dates from about 1885.
