    This is unusual subject matter in 19th century photography.

    The cabinet card shows a large jack rabbit that has been ink IDd as a "Kansas Jack Rabbit".

    The cabinet card was photographed by Glines of Hutchinson, Kansas and dates from about 1885.

      Jack Rabbits used to be plentiful where I live today, but progress has driven them farther West but they are slowly disapearing there also.I suspect Fire ants and other predators
