This a Kodamatic Pleasure II Camera I got as a kid. I understand that there was a patent infringement lawsuit by Polariod and Kodack had to stop making these. I have had it since the early '80s and it was a reward I got from selling the newspaper that month on my newspaper route. Please give me an idea what it is worth.

Yes. Kodak was accused of patent infringement. After nine years of litigation, in October 1985 Kodak was banned from the instant camera and film market. The ban took place in January 1986 and Kodak announced a trade-in program. Owners of approximately 16.5 million cameras could trade their cameras for a share of common stock, a new camera, or $50 woth of Kodak merchandise. The story continues with class action lawsuits, etc. In effect, Kodak was willing to pay more than the cameras were worth. With few exceptions, the typical Kodak instant camera today is worth about $1 - $10. This is because a lots and lots of people held on to their cameras in hopes of it being a valuable future collectable. As such, many near new condition cameras complete with boxes, instructions and so forth often appear in camera shows.
