My mother's mother was the closest thing to a "child star" as my family has (or probably, will ever) come. So even though I believe this doll came from my (paternal) Aunt Nellie's collection, she looks the Ingenue version of my mom's mom. Red hair, high cheekbones, movie star outfit and all. Henceforth her name will be "Ginny Doll" :) Anybody recognize her? Thanks.
This is a Dutchess doll also called a PMA doll (Plastic molded arts) from 1940-1950's . She has no real value and they are very common to find in fancy boxes .But as a collectible hard plastic she was a dime store type doll .They came in boxes with all kinds of names but same doll different dress is only difference .
here is a random example

Yay Manikin! Awesome...and that sounds exactly right on the money from what I see in front of me. Can I do anything with her clothes to spruce her up a bit?
Her dress is stapled on and you can't even steam it a bit as it would melt or hurt the plastic she is made of . She has to stay in that dress as is :-( but it looks fine from here .
I just found your doll in same dress by accident :-) I did mention they sometimes called them Hollywood dolls . Here is yours
