This 21" X 25" oil painting is also VERY dirty, need to take both paintings & have them profesionally cleaned. This E. Percy Moran original oil-on-canvas just about got us on T.V. . We took this, along with some porcelain dish-ware to the "Antiques Roadshow" when they rolled threw Tulsa earlier this year. I had never been to a live roadshow gathering, WOW, what a line of humanity & artifacts! WELL WORTH THE HOURS in that line thow. They told me the painting was worth about a couple of thousand dollars & needed a GOOD cleaning. I was IMPRESSED with how fast those appraisers could pull-up the info. from there laptops! Only took them about 5 min. to tell me everything about it! Angie brought an English tea set & THAT got us thinking, (were going to be on T.V. . The first appraiser looked, got anouther appraiser, who got a third. (were all excited) because 15 min. had gone by, finally they told her "it was a very fine set, worth about 100.00$) !!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT. Well, so much for our 15 min of fame! Still, a fun afternoon. AGAIN , NO CORRECT CATAGORY
How much fun was that! Any other fun stories from that experience?
AmberRose, all i can really tell you is that if the RoadShow comes ANYWHERE near your area, apply for tickets EARLY. We had 3 people submit apptications for pairs of tickets & then didnt get hits for ANY of them, luckily, a friend of Angies, who didnt even care about it (but knew we were trying) gave us hers. (thank you Shay, where ever you are!!) Turned out that in all the years of doing (the American version) of the show Tulsa ended up with 1 person bringing four Chinese OLD Rhino horn cups that set the all time high appraisal (1.5million i think?) for the show. Also thank you bratjdd for the luv!
