Very beautiful spoon! Can't enlarge the photos to see the details, though. Any chance of better pictures? Any hallmarks? How long is it in inches, please? miKKo

      I'm with miKKo here!
It looks like there might be a mark inside the bowl.

Only two? A pair? Major wow!

      Those numerals interest me!
      What do you read?
At first I thought 1626, but now I'm having my doubts.
Any idea where the lady was from originally? Norway? Hungary?

i have two spoons also alike trying to get more pictures. one is a little smaller and handle a little fatter. the one showing has the makings on the back of the handle either (1626) or (626) but flip it it could be (262) and maybe a (y) and back of spoon (IID). And on the other is smaller with (642) on back of handle and (PMS) back of spoon on the front tip of the handle it has (EOS) i will try to get pictures posted of these markings. all i know is she was born in california but traveled the world and her family is from germany.

Hi James. Have had a look at the photos but they are just so small.
I note that you have added IID and PMS on the back of the spoons.
These are the marks that would help in identification.
Anything stamped onto the surface is probably important.
These marks could be placed anywhere on the cutlery, in the bowl of spoons, behind the handles of forks and spoons. The other photos include a mark on the end of the 1626 spoon - the finial. A larger picture of anything like that would be good. You seem to have a real haul of silver here. These two spoons are highly collectible.

Hi James, I'm not sure how it's done. Three of the photos photos just don't enlarge. The one of the two spoons does get bigger, substantially. Photography is not a forte of mine and I'm no good on the tech side. My apologies. I don't mean to be critical or in any way negative; plain old ignorance on my part.
