1940 Cavalier Standard Cooler. I plan on restoring this and am looking for some help. I need a lid for this unit obviously would prefer original but might have to settle for reproduction. Also need cap catcher. I want to keep this as a wet cooler and it has the original refrigeration system that needs to be restored. Where can I get parts for this? Worst case scenario, are there companies that restore these refrigeration units? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Looks cool, if you look inside the cooler, you will find some stampings or numbers and letters. Since you say it's a 1940 I assume you're correct. If you want to know the exact month it was made, the last number should tell you that. Example,,TN-40-5 would mean it was made in the month of May of 1940.

Have you had any luck sorcing a lid for it (used or rep)? I have a very similar machine I just posted pics of and i have no idea regarding model or anything. I am assuming it is a wet cooler based on the "water line" marking on the cooling unit, and the drain on the front. I have no idea what the lid for this would even look like...can you help?
