I don't know where this fits in CW's rules, but it is so cool I had to post it. This is a Grants Pass, Oregon, artist's latest work. Any one who loves art deco and cars will love this. Just google Deco Liner for more info. This might be the perfect promotional vehicle for Collectors Weekly.
This was on storage wars last night
Yes it was, I saw and had to find out more about it so I googled it and spent an hour finding everything about it. I just think it is so cool and am really impressed with the story behind it.
I saw Barry in it last night on storage wars too :-) Pretty cool
Yeah it kinda demonstrates how canned the program is. But I am glad Iwas able to read and see vidieos on the creation of this beauty. For one person to have the imagination, artistry and craftmanship to create this is mind boogleing.
Thanks officialfuel, chechman and Maniken for the coments.
Thanks for the Love, nwclocks, Maniken, RonM, and BELLIN68
I want!.....:-)
Barry has quite a few KILLER rides. He aint hurtin.
I often wondered where Barry had all those cars and bikes . Like the car with a chicken on top when he found the chicken glass's he just happened to have a car to use like that . I think he has lots of friends with money and none of the cars are his . I don't like being duped by a TV show . I do watch be be honest at least .
I agree maniken, from what I read on this vehicle it does not belong to him. Jay Leno also featured it on his "Leno's Garage" web site. I think Barry borrows a lot of the vehicles from Hollywood prop houses. I was still glad to see this, as its truly a work of art. Your right tho, "with friends with money" we should all have them. I just take all the Collectors Shows with a grain of salt, as they are all embellished. But do have to say, they are hopefully bringing in a new generation of collectors and hopefully making collecting cool again
Well good luck with that one Mani, T.V. & honesty go together like Okla. & bobsleding! I dont know about Cal. BUT, in Okla. they post the contents of the storage locker when they run the add. for the auction. Im having a little trouble believing that anything truely valuable would make the final auction (unless it was planted..... as in a T.V. production) Man, im sorry, im just in a pissy mood tonight.
Thanks for the Love, inky, packrat-place, Vontrike, ho2cultcha, and miKKoChristmas11
I just rented a storage locker, and while doing the paperwork, asked the manager if they ever did those auctions. She said they try not to do any more than they have to, because they've never gotten more than a couple hundred bucks and often the buyer isn't satisfied, trying to get his money refunded, even thought the terms of sale are clear. After that show came out, they had dozens of calls about getting on "the list" for auctions, but most people loose interest after attending one. She said that often the buyer ends up hauling most of what he buys to the dump.
Thanks BELLIN68, it is sweet! It rolls all my favorites into one package. Art Deco, snub nose trucks and airstream trailers. The flying bridge with the grand staircase is just icing on the cake.
BELLIN68, check this out for a few shot of the inside and more. And this was done in 5000 hours by one guy.

Thanks toolate2, Chrisnp, shan and Florida Treasures
Hedgewalker, Chevy59, officialfuel, PhilDavidAlexanderMorris, and MaggieDog, Thanks for the love! I am so envious of this guys talent and imagination.
Yeah, Barry just rents different automobiles for each episode, or rather the production company rents vehicles for Barry to drive on the show. Good gag, best one is the bubble car! Just another staged Reality show (Producers plant all interesting items in each locker) Cool bus though.
Well, I agree the programs are scripted. It's TV for cripes sake. Reality TV does not nessasarily = Reality. That said in the real world, storage auctions can result in real treasure. I went to one auction and bid on a room that was a combination of household and antique furniture. I got it for $600, Iwas bidding a gainst alocal auctioneer who ran a weekly auction. After the auction I took the antques and made adeal with the other bidder to take the rest to his weekly sale that evening.
He took refrigerators, stoves, beds, baby furniture, and misc. household. He even loaded, and hauled it. At the end of the night I got almost $400 back. I sold some indian artifacts and oak furniture, and kept a 8' oak store backbar, and a Judges highback oak and leather chair. But just like anything , there are winners and losers.
But geting back to my original post. it was about the Deco Liner and the artist that created it. I never mentioned that TV program.
JayHow......you are a VERY wise man! And filled with great knowledge! TV rating only prove how low our nation really is.
Thanks everyone for the love and all the comments.
