My wife and I recently received a Grandfather clock from her Grandparents.
I don't know much about clocks and tried my best to research on it but found little help. We are very curious to learn more about it.
I have enclosed pictures, the only inscriptions are:
One the Face: Dunsford Plymouth
Inside the Mechanism: It seems like it says Walker & Co. (but it is difficult to see)
We would love to learn more about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hello PetePrice...if you're still out there:
Here's an excerpt from a website in Australia that is selling a clock that is similar to yours:
"This elegant English longcase is marked on the dial for William Dunsford, Plymouth and was made circa 1790."
Here's the link: http://www.timewiseclocks.com.au/longcase-clocks.php
Will that help your research, or did you already have that information? If you hit more dead ends, ask "Timewise Clocks" for any information they may be able to give you regarding this Clockmaker/Silversmith...
Good luck, and please post what you find.
