Here is Vintage Brass Plaque from General Electric, not sure what it was used for or it's age. The plaque is 12" round and heavy. The back of the plaque has 4-numbers followed by a letter. Appears to be very old.

Thats not brass, its copper. Much better than brass. I bet its worth some good money

      Stillwater,
Thanks for the info., It has a nice copper patina, but is very heavy and appears to be brass. I thought copper was much lighter.

Actually, copper is denser (heavier) than brass, which happens to be an alloy of mostly copper anyway. Its not a light metal

There is NOOO mistaking that color, that is old copper for SURE. Trust me on this one, theres absolutely no doubt about it. Old brass looks much different. If ya still don't believe me, make a nic on the back with a knife or something, if it is pink underneath the patina, its copper, if its gold, brass or bronze.

It's brass. At my current employer I operate a 3600rpm turbine generator that still has this same logo still on it. Old as hell but still puts out about 3mw of power. I have pics of it all shined up. Will post when I figure out how to use this site. Best polisher for it is "Nevr-Dull". Works much better than anything else. Also helps to have a dremel tool. Shines like gold. Really looks beautiful.
