the marker belongs to kato shunka circa 1868 to 1911-meiji era. it is a hand made celadon bowl with raised relief embellishments. the flower is a peony. kato shunka is a famous japanese artist from the meiji era and his celadon products are collected all over the world.
this beautiful piece is very lovely! it has a rolled over rim that fits perfectly in your hand when using this bowl/plate/server to serve guests. it is very heavy compared to the lighter nippon and noritake items i have.
this antique piece is museum quality. it is 6.5 inches round.
thank you for looking...love this site!!
sure would be nice if CW would hire an asian antique expert ;)
Lovely, Beautiful Celadon.
thank you for your kind comment...this is my first purchase of celadon...lol...I didn't even know they called it celadon...once again thank you
well lets say we agree to disagree about the museum quality , still cute
