Found this 1950's Seeburg Teardrop Wall Speaker in the attic of my mom's church.
I was hired to do some designing work for the church for a remodeling project. I needed to climb into the attic above the old soundroom...and look what I found!
It's all original and all there, but a little rough. It will be a fun restoration project this Winter and will look great with my Seeburg Jukebox.
Note second image; I couldn't wait to restore this teardrop speaker, so i tore right into it.
I completly disassembled it, polished the chrome pieces. To my delight the chrome was near perfect!
Then I stripped the coat of paint that someone had added later, being very careful not to damage the original finish under the sloppy recoat.
Put a wax job on the old finish to bring back a mellow shine...still has a old look
Then if found an appropriate vintage 50's-60's grill cloth(the original grill cloth was completly shot)
Reassembled and nstalled the original speaker, which still sounds quite good
Ready to hook up to the '57 Seeburg juke box
great find!! Love the retro look.
