Found a long time ago somewhere? I'd like to find out more about this pot. It's glazed dark brown inside, and unglazed outside. No mark anywhere. Does anyone have any idea what kind of a pot it is?

i am looking for the stoneware category, but can't find it.

I agree with bean pot and probably locally made somewhere and not popular. It only has one jug ear and that is small. Loaded with beans or anything else it would gain weight and be hot when you went to grab it, even in a beehive oven it would burn you. Put a pan of home made bread in along side it and when it was done you had a tasty meal.

thank you flhrjr2 and aimathena! as a person of french-canadian ancestry, i should have recognized it immediately. baked beans in a crock was a standard in the home i grew up in - still is when i visit!
