This was my first doll as a child and I am very curious to know what the 14 means. She is a very sweet doll!

Does she just say 14 on her back of her neck ? or is there the words ? Is she marked Ideal Toy and the 14 if so 14 refers to her size .

American character dolls also made betsy wetsy dolls and made the most sought after , many companies made betsy type dolls and did not have a company name on them only a number . So let me know if there is anything other than 14 on her also look at her mid back for markings .

Thank you Manikin! There is no other marking on the vinyl body except the imprinted 14 and even tho I can't find Ideal stamped anywhere.....you are so right; the 14 obviously is her size of 14 inches. Perhaps, at that early date, they did not stamp their dolls with the mfg. name.
