Ten years ago, at least, I found this album at the Salvo's. It has no markings that I have seen. It really is a mystery to me. The inside of the photo album is constructed of three panels of grey leather and the outside is one piece of dark brown leather. These panels have been stitched together finely at the edges with leather as well. The edges show wear but the stitching is tight and intact all around after all these years.
The interesting part to me was the Art Deco tooling of this leather cover.
It's a series of 16 circles and 2 lines on the diagonal.
    It's a very streamlined look.
I think it is from the Thirties!
I'd never seen one like it, though today I have found a leather one with Jugendstil/ Art Nouveau decoration on the net:
    http://www.rubylane.com/item/342798-7143/Vintage-Embossed-Art-Nouveau-Leather

Perhaps it was a production piece, but it also has an Arts and Crafts feel to it. Perhaps it is just an exercise from evening classes in leather-work?
It was meant for just two photos.
It can stand open to show the photos because of the leather stitched edges.
    The external dimensions are:
    L: 29 cm or 11.4"
    W: 25 cm or 9.85"
    I believe the photo size would be inside a metric size: L: 20 cm X W: 16 cm;
which is just a bit smaller than the actual size of 16.5 x 21.5.

I'd appreciate any help or comments on this item.

Perhaps you could put some signed portraits of movie stars within!
Now that's what I should be looking for next?
    But who?

Hi Amber! I have a collection "Wish IT Were"!
      You know what I mean?
If only I lived in Europe!
I never see anything like his stuff here in Australia.
It does not come from ebay either! The guy is a very serious contemporary glass collector who has been buying well (and I mean really well) for years. We are lucky to see it. He has amazing taste.

V, do you want my picture ; ))

Mind you, Sean. It can provide you with some clues about what is available. His Czech cut glass pieces are amazing: Frydrych and Satrapa are names to look out for. I only have one piece like them by Vilem Vesely on my facebook page. European taste is quite different to US / UK / OZ. It's a different sensibility.

What movie were you in Amber?
I thought I'd stick with the starlets rather than the paramours and real stars of one's life!

      Many thanks obscurities!
Now Sean, that's a puzzle: next week and "8,000 reason".
How many postings are there now?

Unfortunately I have done mostly TV work. I guess I don't make the grade, sniff.

Mind you I think that the portrait in T-shirt is more than just TV work. You fall into the 'real stars' category rather than starlets!

Sean's latest "Loves" seem to be suggesting Brando and Sinatra!

Also I learned that Zagreb was and still is a leather tooling and handcrafting area to this day! What a beautiful lost art form!! I also love your design with circles... I love how Mid-Century Modern pieces are really Art Deco influence... Thank you so much for all your help with my pieces! Now for another mystery... the golden statue.... UGH!!! This piece has been my most difficult to solve!!!
