I have a 1954 claendar witha 1952 unsigned lithograph print. This orginal still has the paper wraper it came in. I am aware of a few rare 1953 calenders with the 52 unsigned picture. This may be vary rare. Can anone help me confirm what I have an an aproximate value. It was in the atic of the house I bought 25 years ago. I just realized what it was. Shoudl I frame it in glass.

It is Marilyn Monroe calendar . It appears original , there are lots of reproductions that were made also. Very nice ! Hopefully someone else on CW will agree or not that it appears original and not a repro . If you frame you need to put matting around it so photo does not touch glass . If mine I would frame and hang right in front room :-) Or my Woman's cave or if a guy a man's cave .

Manikan, " woman's cave" just doesn't sound right. Would you object to calling it a "Cougars Cave" ? Lol

Cougar LOL are you aging all of girls Chevy :-) I think we need a cave too and I appreciate art . I guess a cougar could be someone younger also :-) Since I am 29 <wink>

Nice example! There are several sites that list how to determine if it is bona fide (I listed most of them in a similar recent post I made here), but it is a good start that it is not marked with Marilyn's name.

What ever you do, get that PROFESSIONALLY framed ~ DO NOT try to 'do it yourself' unless you have expertise. Preserve it's value NOW before some careless handling detracts from the value, because it could be chopped in half in a split second. I've seen asking prices in the $2-3,000 range.

Don't mean to be a nag here, but I just took a closer look at the top edge of your calendar and it looks like it is hanging on by a thread! The metal edging is an important verification point as to it's genuineness, so it is in your best interests to preserve it ASAP. Every time you roll & unroll it, it is at greater risk for damage that could halve (or more) its value.

My dad had the same one hanging downstairs near our bar for many years. The funniest thing is I had just asked him only last week about it and I couldn't believe he told me he threw it away when he had moved. My dad never threw anything away in all the years growing up in our house. Now that he is 92 years old he calls everything junk. LOL
