Made by Wilton company in the 1940s. Has the number 1 marked on the inside?

This is unusual to me since I have never seen this type before.
I do have a LACONS bottle opener that has no number on it. It has been in my family for years. I hunt these down and will keep my eye out for one like yours.

I have one of these guys! He looks just like yours, except for different paint wear, and a six is imprinted on the back. I paid $80 for him at an antique show about 10 years ago. Afterward, I found out about all the reproductions, and figured that I probably had been swindled. But I can't shake the belief that these double vision drunken sailor guys are OLD! I just wish I knew more about their history!

Saw one of these Stan auction and will bid for it today. Certainly unusual butnot rare. Found this interesting background story while doing some research
