This is another thrift store purchase, but it is very well painted. I know who artist is from Spokane Wash. and name is Rena Duthie Melville and it was painted in 1957 from photo taken by Vivian Duthie Morgan in 1956 in Mexico. It is 24" X 18". This artist Rena Duthie Melville, was very good and I believe was recognized more than just locally. Also I would love for relatives to "just happen to see this" and contact me, that would be exciting. I also spent a lot of time in Mexico. Barra De Navidad I really like. My son is 1/2 Japanese but we went there for 6 mo. and he was born in Barra, he has 3 birth Cert. and passports now! USA, Japan, and Mexico! My son is named Ken, sometimes I call him MexiKen! toracat

I also have a painting by Rena Duthie Melville named "Hobo" (I think)
I got mine when my wife died- she was Rena's' granddaughter.

I am curious about "mudgirl" and the reference to Rena "Delvie" Melville. (Should be Duthie not Delvie) I was not aware that my cousin was married at the time of her death. To clarify, did you give "mudgirl" your "Mexican Hut" painting?
