I have this handsome neoclassical Wedgwood lamp. It is approximately 35.5" overall in height including the finial and the base is approx. 6"x 6".
The Wedgwood date code on the cube is marked as SZN, and the code on the rim of the column is ZLN which puts the date of manufacture as 1885.
I have, many times over the years, tried to find additional information/comparables.... such as did Wedgwood make an electric lamp that early, or perhaps it was an oil lamp or even a stationary gas lamp. I welcome any and all opinions.
