Found this while hunting in the woods on my late grandfather's property. I don't know much about it, but I enjoy old things and would like to know more about it. My guess would be that it was my great-grandfather's because the house has always been in the family. I'm trying to found out as much as I can about it. Thanks

This is what I Have found. Thomas & William Coldwell of Newburgh, NY hold about 15 patents on lawnmowers from 1887-1926. your lawnmower was patented on Sept 17, 1918 by William T Coldwell pat. #1,279,266.

looks like a lawn roller that attaches to a tractor.

A picture of a lawn mower found in a dump in the 1950s shows some attachments on the blades and the person was wondering what those attachments did. Does anyone know?

What you have is a horse drawn reel mower. I collect self propelled ones and have a machine that is missing the reel, possibly the same one that is in your machine.
