Found this the other day, its an old chess set in turned wood and sterling silver. I know that old chess sets are very collectible and can be quite valuable, so I want to try to identify it. It was real cheap, only $25, and I got another one in solid ivory that I'll be posting. Does anyone know anything about old chess sets? Its age or origins? I saw some Arabic/Muslim ones that looked similar. Thanks for looking!
You are on a roll! Goodness!
Lol thanks Amber, I have been doing well lately, lots of great stuff!
Jason, its actually not marked anywhere, I tested it with acid
Looks like I've ID'ed it, its a Muslim/Arabic set from the 19th century, I found one in an auction catalog.

Incidentally, this chess set will be displayed in an exhibition at the World Chess Hall of Fame, May 3 - Sept 15.

Hello, no worries, the set isn't for sale anyway! However, if anyone is interested in some information on antique chess sets, my collection is online at chessantique.com, and I write a monthly column for worldchess.com -- here's a list of the columns to date (in reverse chron order) https://worldchess.com/category/the-chess-collector/
