As a continuation of my previous post; this is Art Nouveau plate #3. As you can see it has the same artist's mark on the back as plate #1 [white flowers] in the first post.

The plate has a different shaped border, and it is 5 3/4" wide point to point. It is also just a tad deeper.

Both of the artists seem to have well thought out signatures or logos, which leads me to believe that they were not amateurs. But; as you can see here, this mark can be looked at in two ways and convey different images. The one on the left looks as though it could be a stylized anchor with the initials "o p". When flipped as in the second image, the mark looks as though it could be that of a cartoonish animal face with the initials being " d o", and indeed this style of ink cartoon drawing was popular in the 20's and 30's.

I sure hope that someone out there has some knowledge to share about my little Art Nouveau plates.

    Thanks again,

    Stu

The "OP/Anchor" plates are rendered in Stile Liberty (Italian Art Nouveau) style and painted marks are common among the better known Italian ceramicists of the period (e.g., Chini). Maybe this will help narrow your search a bit.

Thank you so much for steering me in the right direction.
I have found a site that specializes in ceramic artists and their marks, and have sent the pix to them. I will post any response I receive from them.
      Thanks again!
