I was lucky enough to move into a 1935 Chatham Sears kit house, that has lots of wall space. One of my collections is prints, art, and photographs. One of my favorite things of these is finding wonderful Sheet music, and magazines and framing them. I've now moved on to fixing old frames as well. I spent a lot of time cutting mats, and bringing old frames back to life.

Here I'm showing very little of what I still have, but they are my favorites.

In the last picture is two of my favorite old magazines. I'm very careful with these because I don't want to ruin them, so I frame the whole thing. In the blue one to the right is an old Fortune magazine, January 1933. This was a gift. My brother in law made the frame glass on both sides to enjoy the front and the back.

The large print I can't find anything on, but it's one of my Gems. Marked the Three Muses someone painted silver around it, so I had to cut a mat for it, and will be finished that one soon too. Yes they killed the value, but it really is beautiful.

Above that is the round cherub print. This one is interesting. It has a nazi insignia that was put on the frame. I'm not one for collecting such things but I love the print. I put it high enough on the wall the insigna is hard to see.

The watercolors are a big hit, and I have much to do with the one still. Found in the trash with the frame you can see the damage there. That is a project I have yet to do. Hopefully when I'm done you won't notice the water marks.

Lastly the Alka Seltzer ad. It's whimsical and fun. Framing was a chore.

You are right, framing is a chore. I don't want to do it any more. I have a lot of things I would like to frame, but wont.
      PS I like crap.

In that last pic, on the bottom left, is that a basketball team? Do you know anything about it?

Baltimore high school in the year 1916. Thomas Warren Philipps was the coach/teacher, my grandfather. He also was a photographer, and developed his own film. There is very little of his life that isn't documented, and many on my walls :)

No! I wonder who the artist is? Nice detective work

Now I do remember it being 'The Three Graces' (Muses> Graces, borrowed deities, one half dozen or the other) I actually had to take it outside and look from the back to read it because of the stupid silver paint the other owner put on it. That is why I can't see the artist. It's a huge steel lithograph and they all but ruined it as far as resale goes.

There are many adaptations of the three muses. (Just google 3 muses and look at 'images'). In this case, Three Christian Muses denotes Faith, Hope, and Charity.

Thanks so much! It's very cool because I do happen to have a first edition "Ten Nights in a Bar-Room" Now I'll have to revisit the lithographs' in it. So cool you found EXACTLY where mine came from size and all. Good job!
