I have no idea what I have recently inherited here. From the tag on the back I am assuming it is a Cavalier. But I have tried to seach the internet to find a model number or something on this. I guess it must have been filled with water, then chilled with the plug cooling unit?? Also I have no idea what the top on it would have looked like, or where to even try to source one (new or rep). I would truely appreciate any direction or comments regarding this machine. I am glad to be here!!

Looks to be a 1940-41 Standard Electric model. I have a period replacement parts/reconditioning catalog, if you send me a note at dq@cablespeed.com I'll reply with a copy. It will at least be some insight into what's ahead if you wish to restore.

Good old Cavalier, made right here in the state of Tenn. I believe this is like yours, look inside for the numbers to see when it was made.

Do you know what the lid for this particular unit would have looked like? The chilling unit sits a good 1.5-2.0" above the box so I am assumin there must have been a bump out on the lid of some sort. I have seen them for the standard (they are flat), but not the standard electric. Any help would be appreciated!

Check out this listing and see if anything looks familiar:

Nope, the motor would sit to high for a standard flat lid. I did just find one in a picture on an old Westinghouse Standard Electric that is probably what I am looking for. It looks like in their restoration they lowered the cooling unit and changed the lid type. Here is the link............ any thoughts on how to source that Westinghouse lid would be appreciated!

Found out this is a Vendo 139/159 by Cavalier. It would have had a 5cent coin tower and a rotating lid to dispense the soda. My quest now continues for these parts..... i will update as I find them....thanks to all that replied!
