Several buttons a friend of mine had that wants to know origin of them. He found them in his backyard, couple have anchors on them and some have eagles with stars.
Here is back picture,well when I said in backyard I should have. Been more specific, see they. Were in boxes stored in a shed/barn they had out back well someone began to clean barn out and stopped half way thru leaving lots of the boxes out in the weather for about 2 or 3 months before he found these and lots of other things as well.
Where? I'm certainly no authority on buttons but think some of them could be interesting, like the rt. corner & the anchours.

The 1 mentioned earlier in the top rt corner has the very early style of U.S. eagle as the 1 under it. Jackson & other troops were in your area fighting the Red Sticks in the early 1800's. Anchors r of course common on most naval uniforms but U r a long way from from the ocean. They seem too diversified to have been found in a yard in your area & they certainly don't look "dug". You would have had to clean them, so with what? If this is not fake, then they may be worth a bit. You should contact an expert.
You don't show or list the markings on the back of the buttons. Most military buttons r stamped with the maker on the back. Are they marked? As stated, I'm no expert or collector of buttons but just learned a bit over the yrs.

The upper top Button that looks military and appears upside down is not a military Button. It's self-shank is conical and Modern, 1950 or later.
The Button directly beneath that one with the Eagle on the anchor is a Navy Button. This pattern was in use from 1850 until 1941 and this particular Button is not rare or collectible. The Relative Value if this Button is not high but as a historical item it is collectible.
The Button with the crown and pretzel thingy is a modern British Infantry Button, about 1950. This pattern(the Royal Crown above the Staffordshire Knot) is from the South Staffordshire Regiment. The Relative Value of this Button is not high but as a historical item it is collectible.
The two Buttons with anchors that say "Canal D...." appear to be steamship line Buttons but I am unable to read the rest of the Button to be sure.
