Ok, folks, I need some help on this one. The piece is 5 1/2 in tall, 3 in diameter on the base. There is no Maker's name, As you can see on the bottom, there are numbers (4832, 48 and 101 hand marked) If anyone can tell me more about this piece I'd really appreciate it, The colors are great and well defined, and it seems to be an Art Nouveau type design. Thanks for looking everyone!
Well Hello!!! How are you? Long time! I am sure you already thought of Majolica.
The bottom looks so clean. I really like the colors. It really reminds me of an umbrella holder but the mini version. Good to see you!
Hey, Amber. I'm hanging in there, how about you. You're right about the umbrella holder! I just thought the color and detail was really well done, and it would look nice on display. It may be a cheap Chinese piece, but one of the better ones. or it may be something good! I hope soneone knows...
Don't know who made it, but I'd guess European and older. Possibly circa 20s-40s. I found one similar selling on eBay - seller doesn't know who made it either, but you may be able to piggyback off some of the descriptors and find more info. Check item #200607307529.
Thanks, Artpottery. Those are definitely the same maker. The base is very similar, and the interior color is almost identical. What did you use as search terms, if you dont mind my asking?
Just searched "Iris vase"
Thanks art.
Did you find an answer? It looks German art nouveau to me. Very nice!
No, Elizabethan, I never did. Just enjoying the beauty. Thanks for the comment.
