This Coca-Cola thermometer was hanging in the garage of our first home, a 1912 Victorian shotgun house, in Louisville, KY. We haven't been able to find one like it online, yet. We'd like to find out how old it is and what it's worth. Does anyone know?
1950's thermo. Manufactured and distributed in your region only (northern KY, southern Indy). Highly sought after by collectors, the market is good. In mint to near mint condition, these are selling 250-350 range on eBay currently. In this condition (looks rusty and rough, sorry), I wouldn't be surprised to see it fetch a c-note. That's how popular they are. If it cleans up some, and that is a big IF, maybe a buck fifty to two.
All stuff learned from you guys and a Petretti's 12th at the ready. I field an easy one once in awhile while you're trolling eBay. I really see mine as a niche expertise, eBay auctions and acquisition strategy. Sorta like a smart waterboy.
My guess would be that it ain't gonna clean up so great. Too much rust and bends for my money! I would say you would be lucky to get a $50 for it. But, I'm really picky.
