Yixing teapot .Also known as purple clay teapot.
There is a foo dog on the lid and is attached by a chain.
There is a makers mark.
It is in excellent condition I think it is at least 50 years old.
I cannot specifically identify it.
Any Ideas?
it looks c19th, it may even be c18th.
This is from late 19th Century.
Thank you kingstonlam
Your tea pot is older you think for shure, maibe from the last years of the qing dinasty or in the beggining of the repubic period. is a beutifull example, the mark in the lead remember me the factory I pots, but the form is older for shure.
nice vase really strange things are going on here
first how could this be 18 century ?
18 century are or double blank not signed on bottom and top ( than you get an attribution to style or calligraphics or they are elaborate signed
but for discussion sake , when it is high ranked yiking , the so called Xu Hang Tang ranked or slightly less quality , there is no 2 character embossing in 18 century
Than something real strange has happened an Yiking needs an Tong Feng Dong as counter pressure
An Tong Feng Dong is an hole in the lid the to compensate or test the friction between the body and the lid
if you poor tea , you put your finger on the hole to compensate for even the slightest discordance risque of leaking, otherwise you gonna burn your hands
so you have to test it when the lid clicks on the body its ok when it makes a grinding sound , you are complete toast possible, because you can,t use it , and the value drops considerately
it it still a nice vase and there is still value in but it seems the plugged the hole
