hello collectors,
I found this barbie, skipper, and ken dolls in my attic with a collection of outfits for each . Im not a collector but i feel like one now that ive aquired so many items. I do not know but people tell me different things as I try to find the value of them or find if they are originals or knockoffs i do not believe they are copys this barbie has made in japan on the backside buttocks and the box has a $1.50 cent price on it. Im hoping someone will tell me more of its authenticity and worth. I can take pics of the other dolls but this one is more interesting to me. also there is so many outfits in perfect condition from kens boxing gloves to scuba gear. if you can help please contact me id love to hear more of the
barbie and ken collecting . thank you
It looks like the doll is a Twist 'N Turn Barbie but the hair has been mostly cut off. The legs should click and bend. If they are molded straight, she may be on a Standard Barbie body. The jacket she is wearing goes to Barbie's skating outfit called Ice Breaker. The hat she is holding on to goes to Skipper's Coordinating outfit called Skating Fun. The white shorts goes to Barbie's outfit Resort Set or it could be a pak outfit that consisted of a striped t-shirt and shorts. The top I am not sure what outfit that goes to. The doll stand is probably Skipper's. The box came from a promotion that Mattel did in about 1967. For $1.50 and a prior Barbie doll, you could get in return the new Twist 'n Turn Barbie which came in the box you have shown.
Hope this helps.
