    blunderbuss2
    (199 items)

Police station sign in Jamaica in the 70's. This is from a community called Wait-A-Bit. It was named after the "wait-a-bit tree", which has sharp hook-like thorns that takes a bit of time to get unhooked from.
Got stuck in my pic. collection as well as the 2nd pic.
Thought I would throw in some humour instead of a vase!

This and the mine pastures is all the reason to remain land-locked. Just kiddin. Enjoy your postings and the cheerful wit you've left on some of the others posting. Just dropping a line in and was wondering if the water-buffalo were easier to process to hamburger after the futter-bye went off.
    2. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 12 years ago
Parts of them you don't even have to grind up. You only wish the hector was in Jamaica! Actually that wouldn't even be that good. We didn't have water buffaloes there or it would have been stolen it was nailed, screwed, glued or bolted down & had 24 hr. security!

I was just reading thru one of your comments , You said you've never own an AK. I have and do now, Had it posted on here for a while, thought I'd take it off. They are a great "Down and Dirty" weapon. The only down-fall to my thinking is not enough powder, hits hard, but drops to quick for distance. That's why I've got a 308 and an 06. LOL
    4. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 12 years ago
Didn't know they were that weak on punch. Hear reports of shallow rifling & bad accuracy. Not all that hard to get here, just never really wanted one. Folding stock model still won't fit in the map box & if you can't get to it when you need it, what good is it? We have serious laws & can't drive around with a gun-rack in the back window! The police know I'm armed but don't flaunt it & they know I will only use to defend. I do gunsmithing for the gendarmes, surete' etc., so I'm fine on the fr. side, but live on the dutch side now. I walk in the right circles or try to.
I think you know the drill.
    5. kerry10456 kerry10456, 12 years ago
I don't drive around with mine in the window, but sits nicely beside the bucket seats, Great for an alley sweeper, brass flips nice , high and back. I like the 9mm you posted earlier, i had one, buffer spring wasn't heavy enough , stove piped alot.
    6. kerry10456 kerry10456, 12 years ago
I'd repost the AK and the Springfield , but something about weapons and Mickey Mouse, just doesn't fly well, LOL. Might post the SF later , it's a model 1903 with a
      Warner Swazie Scope.
    7. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 12 years ago
hadn't thought of that, duh. I've got a bench in my truck but have to look into that.
If they are stove-pipe-ing, your recoil spring is too strong or you need to polish the ramp and/or the chamber. If you are using an aux. buffer-spring in the back, sounds like you are trying to get higher rpm. The weapon was balanced for 550-600 & works fine @ that. Muck with it & you change that balance it was designed for & will probably run into problems. I'm no expert but worked with these from the MP-18 on up & they are designed for "that balance". If you have to have 1,200 rpm to hit something, I suggest a grenade & they are a lot easier to hide. Remember, you still have to carry that extra ammo & changing mags can take just long enough to get killed.

OK Helm, we have a duel going. I'm going to throw in knick-nacks so that you lay your cards out, & then drop my trump. Accept the challenge?
My trump card is going to floor you! Hint, it is bigger than a bread box & can knock out the ferret even if it is 150 yrs old.
Curious by now? Have to wait. Let's see what you have?
    9. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 12 years ago
Jason, it's true. For some reason, the kids want something that fires super-fast. They don't think about accuracy or having to carry all that extra ammo to waste basically in the air. 550-650 rpm you can control & I can place almost every round where I want it but that comes from experience. Most military weapons don't use such high rpm in hand-held weapons because of the waste & supply of ammo. The MG 42 was too fast & caused problems with bring up ammo. Also, faster causes more jams. "Can we stop the assault while I clear this jam?" I picked up a spec. op MAC 10 in 9m/m last year with suppressor etc in the case & sold it without firing it. I had absolutely no desire! Waste of time & ammo. A toy for the inexperienced.

Good reply Kevin & I agree completely. BAR is a bit slow but has the punch. How many times has a soldier sworn that he killed the head over the bank, only to see the same head pop back up? It really gets irritating sometimes! I've done that, where you see the flash & duck.
    11. kerry10456 kerry10456, 12 years ago
I'll have to agree with the if you need 1200 to hit something, but the concept is still "All is good" still applies. I really don't need to fire it on auto to hit what I need to. In the area I live now, to remain alive, you just need to stay away from the timber during deer season, "City Hunters" come to the boonies and shot each other every year. As for me going to the city, weapon of choice would be, just stay out of the city. lol Close order weapon of choice is 1911 or I own a S&W Sigma 9, but haven't made a desision on If I like it or not, Positive features ,but some draw-backs I don't really care for.

I just wanted to put some love on Jamaica sign and photo of boat and see I learned a lot about guns instead :-) My family spend and did spend a lot of time in Jamaica . This brought back memories of my parents not the guns but Jamaica ."The sign should read "No Problem " the answer to anything there . Thanks for the memories
    13. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 12 years ago
Manikin, No problem mon. I lived there for 15 yrs so unfortunately guns are part of my memories when the communists took over the island for 8 yrs.. "Me not mind dying, but not today".
    14. Manikin Manikin, 12 years ago
I do know there are places there still not safe Blunder . How many years ago did you live there ? I will post a few old photo's of my parents there and the families they loved so much .
    15. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 12 years ago
Mani, I moved there in '73 and had a club in Negril. Mariner's Inn. Logo was, "Stay High On The Cliffs".
    16. Manikin Manikin, 12 years ago
My family spent much time in Falmouth Jamaica Blunder . Sorry I forgot to reply . Is that on same side if island as you were on ?
    17. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 12 years ago
Negril is the very western tip of the island. Falmouth is also on the N. side but maybe 80 mi. E. of negril & the other side of MoBay(Montego Bay).
Negril is where Bloody Bay is where pirates Calico(Jack)Rackham, Anne Bonnie & Mary Read were captured. Falmouth is near where Columbus was marooned when his ships fell apart & tricked the indians into helping them survive by making the sun disappear(Eclipse).
These day, - don't go, just send your money!

My sister still goes often and continues my Moms work there . She is well protected at all times . I will post a few old photo's but they are on my other PC . I think they have been going for past 30 years and do work with the people . I can't travel but I think we adopted a brother there since he was in my Mom's will along with his Mother . Very poor people . They just got back a month ago and built a house for one of the family members . I have mixed feelings about it all but honor what my Mother found great pleasure in .
      Why did you leave ?
    19. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 12 years ago
I left to stay alive. I was there during the really turbulent yrs when Michal Manley was in power with his communist gov't. & gunmen. I had a club but things got too violent & I sold. Took me 5 yrs+ to smuggle my money out & got involve with the JLP (Jamaican Labour Party) in opposition to the PNP(Peoples National Party/ communist). 14 1/2 yrs is a long story. By the time we got the communists out, I had almost been killed several times & your CIA targeted me because I wouldn't follow their instructions as it would endanger my friends. When the communist were ousted, my name was included in an uncovered communist "hit list". It's a long story. Jamaicans only use people for what they figure they are worth, without exception! Common expression was "kill the crocodile eggs", which meant kill the white women & children. If you haven't truly lived there, you can't possibly understand. I'm not prejudiced, - I'm experienced.Americans seem to confuse the differences. They will never understand. They dance to music about killing them & love it. They just don't understand the words & meanings. I speak patois as best as any white can. If you want to follow-up on this, fauxpasunltd@gmail.com . This is not the place.
Right or wrong, I just posted part of my history in Ja. on arjason's post about the counterfeit $10 about 2 hrs ago.
