K.P.C. de Bazel for Leerdam a vingerbowl for glassservice C designed 1917
purple ( also made in clear ,irisee, blue and green )12.5 cm diameter 5.5 cm high. Marked with the De Bazel mark ( pic 4 ) De Bazel was a well known architect ,furniture designer and general designer , and was the first artist invited by PM Cochius ( director of the glass factory ) to design some stemware for the factory .De Bazel supplied his first designs for Leerdam in 1917 and continued by developing a range of modular designs for stemware. The basic shape was defined in 8 basic service patterns named A-H. They could be easily adapted for 'geringd' (external horizontal ribs), 'geslepen' (cut in a range of patterns) and sometimes inverted ('omgekeerd') or made with optical vertical ribs ('optiek').
His pressed flatware service with a decagonal shape designed in 1920 was extremely popular, was extended several times, and was produced in a range of strong colours. As an early icon of Dutch currents within art-deco.

The colour of this bowl is wonderful! I adore the monogram too. Thanks for putting down the details about the versatile decor changes. I have a KO306 on CW "amber, 'optiek', brede bolle voet met 4 ringen, naar boven toe wijder". It has a mark that indicates that it was specifically ordered.
PS the two other vases are amazing too!

i liked the shape and the color also trying to get a large 24 cm irisee clear floating scale that has the same shape ( and the old pre 1921 mark ) this purple bowl has the post 1921 mark

So you think the mark on my vase is pre-1921?
      Thanks for this comment.

thanks cobaltcobold the then director of the glass factory PM Cochius started to ask outside well known artist like potters ( Lanooy )designers ( Lebeau) architect ( De Bazel and Berlage ) silversmith ( Eischenloeffel )textiles ( Gidding) and more to make designs for the factory also Frank Loyd Wright made some designs for the factory ( 60 have been found sofar )in 1928/29 but due to technical problems these would have been to expensive to produce on a large scale .From 2 of his designs prototypes were made a large blueish green ( color called Meerblauw)vase ( in 2 sizes )only 5 pieces ( 4 large ones and 1 small one )are known to exist of this one http://www.nationaalglasmuseum.nl/index.php?option=com_memorixbeeld&view=record&Itemid=25&id=gla:col1:dat10214&tstart=
