Seven Seas E Ingraham Nautical watches Clock
Just found this gem in goodwill.. no matter what combination of words I use from the face, the closest thing I can find is a watch the is identical.. minus not being a clock.
I want to restore it (Properly) and keep it, but I would love to know more about it.. even if its just a cheap knock-off or something..

I have The Seven Seas dial on an E. Ingraham pocket watch movement manufactured 1957.
Seven Seas is a registered trademark used for dials on watches, clocks & chronometers. Registration number 0642617 filed Feb. 21, 1939, used since Dec. 24, 1938.
Robert L. Hunter (The Nautical Clock Co.)
      552 Mowbray Arch
      Norfolk, Va.
You will have to check the clock movement to see if it has a makers mark or name on it.

There is a wristwatch of these on e-bay also. That would make a neat set.

My grandfather was Robert L Hunter, who designed that watch face, and copyrighted it in the late 1930s. I remember when he was an old man and had retired, he had a room in their home (552 Mowbray Arch, Norfolk, VA) where he had all his watchmaking equipment. He purchased watches from Switzerland I think, then put these watch faces on them. As mentioned, he made wristwatches, pocket watches and the desk top clocks like you have. He was a bright and wonderful man. He also patented the process for cooking soup in a can, which he sold to Campbell's Soup Company.

My Dad Took On The Nautical Clock Co. From Robert Hunter years ago. He passed it on to me.

That is very cool. I'd love to touch base with you. Where are you located? I'm in Charlottesville, VA. Are you still making new watches?
