    Another basement treasure.
    I loved this the moment I spied it.
    I know it's an ashtray, but it's so beautiful
    the handpainted blue design, the satin glaze, the soft shape of it
    I thought I'd be able to identify it from the signature,....but no.
    I've no idea of it's age or where it was made.
    Could be Moroccan? European?, of from an American pottery?
    any guesses would be welcome.

      Maybe it was off the SS New York? Post 1893. The SS new York was the boat that almost collided with the Titanic on April 10th 1912 on her maiden departure.

      I've often see them in Morocco but not so often in one color as this one. I've one myself I will show it on CW one of these days.
