This picture was taken in 1995 of Roy and myself at Roy Roger's Victorville, CA museum. I had collected Hoppy, Gene, and Roy's cap guns and Roy was kind enought to sign the holster set for me. Roy had asked me were I lived and at that time I told him I lived in Frankfort, Ky and he say my mother was born in Ashland, Ky. Happy Trails to you Roy.
Roy was my Hero growin up.... Thats Awsom Tom, what a keepsake......
I went to wikipedia and found a wealth of info about Roy and Dale ,really a fine man and worth the hero rating .Check him out at Wikipedia.com
Thanks for sharing with us,sure brings back a lot of fond memories.Saturday afternoons with Roy ,Gene,Hoppy and Charlie Chan was a exciting couple hours for a 10 year old boy and his friends. One time we took our cap pistols to the movies and during the chase scene starting shooting. As you can well imagine the usher was quickly on our trail and threatened throw us out and call our Mother.
Lee, thanks for the comments. I also went to the saturday afternoon matinee and watched Roy, Gene, and of course Hoppy. As a boy of 9 or 10 I was in love with Dale Evans. When I finally got to meet Dale later on in life I was tongue tied, you would think I was 10 again. Those were the days my friend.
I watched Roy when I was a kid. Always like those westerns
Thanks Dickytheboy50, Roy was quite the cowboy when i was growing up.
Thinking back to the Roy,Gene and Hoppy movies I don't recall them ever shooting the bad guys.
Thanks for all the great comments.
