I tried for several years to buy a reasonbly priced copy of this image but was not sucessful.

In the past month, I was able to acquire TWO of these and didn't even realize until today that they were different publishers !

The top (darker image) is by Underwood and carries a 1905 copyright date. It is titled "Photographing New York City-- on a slender support 18 stories above pavement of Fifth Avenue".

The bottom view is by Keystone and is titled "Looking N. up Fifth Ave. past Flatiron Bldg. and Madison Sq. New York". The Keystone view also carries "Copyrighted Underwood & Underwood".

I was not aware that images were sold between these two competing companies!

      It suprised me too, rob.

I'd looked at them a few times and didn't even realize the two were different.
