WAITING TO HEAR
Would love to see that collection. How great is that?
What a super collection! I collect stick pins too. They kind of multiply by themselves, I find....I like hatpins, but stickpins are my fav. Such variety. I keep mine in a small chests of drawers. Did you ever hear of a collectors group, lisad? I'ld love to join one too.
What a nice collection. I would love to look at them up close and feel them. So interesting, what I can see already. I love them too and have quite a few, but I must say I am hooked on the hatpins..Just a larger version really of the stickpin..when you think about it. Stick pins have been used for hatpins..I bet!! Thanks for sharing. Haven't heard of such a club, but if I do..shall pass along the information to you.
Keep buying stickpins..such a nice hobby and if ONLY they could talk????

Hello! sorry it has taken a while for my reply, lisad, I'm not too hot online, and forget about sites! So glad I remembered though. I would love to see your collection too, blington1948, and I'll try to post a pic of mine. How about a facebook page for stickpin and hatpin collectors? Might be fun, especially if everyone can post. I love pins but my knowledge is very limited,so a group page, perhaps? Let me know what you think!
Woaaah, large nice collection!
Love the stick pins too!!! I'm although bothered by the foam part... I prefer hunting small vases, figurines or goblets, filling them with modeling paste to present my collection.
I invite you to have a look on my post :

I will post more!
There are stickpin holders available for displaying your pieces. Just be careful of you want authentic antique pieces because they are being reproduced. The repros sell for $5.00 to $15.00. They are similar to hatpin holders, but smaller of course. Otherwise toothpick holders with modeling paste in the bottom work well, too. Or I'd suggest covering your foam with a solid-colored fabric so as to not distract from the lovely stickpins. And there is a Facebook page for hatpin collectors...someone might want to start up one for stickpin collectors, too!
