Standing 9 1/2" tall this classic double gourd shaped Tiffany has bright iridescence. I was drawn to its color combination. Its a great example of the glasshouses' commitment to quality even very early in production. Made circa 1895-1899 best guess. This piece is unsigned with a paper label. Under high magnification, the label appears to be silkscreen printed, not digitally reproduced. Before we purchased this piece, the seller very graciously allowed us to show it to four friends who are experts and long time collectors of Tiffany. They agreed the piece is Tiffanys Corona. I still love Loetz glass but that doesn't mean a piece of American art glass can't turn my head every once in a while. I'm gonna need another cabinet :-) Thank you Frank, Jack and Mike.
Mr. T : you don't need a new cabinet........just send the "excess" along to me !!!
I think I saw this one (ebay?). This is a great early piece, Tony. Excellent addition!
And somehow we always seem to find space for one more in the cabinet, but there must be a theoretical limit.
Tony, glad that you and Kelly got it...enjoy!
