      This style was used well into the 20th century, which is when (in my opinion) yours dates from.

      Close up photos of the front and back of the buckle may help to confirm.

      This navy sword belt rig dates to Spanish American War or later.The Civil War example is a true 2 piece buckle. (Spoon with motif interlocking with wreath. This is known as a "false" two piece with the hook or catch .
