My name is Martin Cruz, this is a 1948 Packard Convertible Monte Carlo Edition, I've looked online for a similar one but there isn't. It belongs to my Boss who has been in the car business for around 50 years. He's into old cars and collectibles, he has plenty of old car parts laying around the shop and I keep telling him this parts and old classic hub caps could be worth some money. He refuses to let go of all this items because he thinks one day will get back and make use of them. I like old cars as well but this car definitely caught my eye because I've never seen one in my life.

I would like to know if you have any information regarding this vehicle. I know this is one of the most unique versions built by the manufacturer, but its so rare I keep thinking it could be the only one remaining.

I Love your Show, I learn a lot and keeps me entertained with my family.

Nice car! I don't know much about Packards, but after a little research, I did find that Packard made 2 hardtop "Monte Carlo" editions in 1952. I believe these were not production cars, but show cars. You could have an extremely rare car there! Get the serial number off of it and verify it is a 1948 car. More pictures would be great too!!!

that is a really nice car, try to finf info for it but nothing. I would say get info from a car collector site or local place by you, if any. If its rare, keep it, fix it up.

In my research there were 145 of these 1948 Monte Carlo's built and only a handful survive today. Looks like a keeper.

      Martin,
Your boss needs to load the car on a trailer and bring it to the Texas Packard Meet in Salado. I think it would be great to see. http://www.texaspackardmeet.com

      Hi Martin,
I am somewhat of a Packard historian and am interested in this car as it could be a new Packard-built special. I would very much like a few high resolution pictures of it and know its VIN number, body number and embosed firewall number. Perhaps we can identify the car as either built by Packard in this form or custom modified. I recently published a book on the history of Packard during the 1948 to 1950 years so I have done a great deal of research on these years.

thats a keeper buddy! if all the plate#s match up with the factory #s, you got gold. Ive got a 46 Clipper conv. posted on this site, im no expert, but if ttom says there were 145 built, you better break out the wrenches. If just a"trim package" was added by non-factory reps., ???
