My grandfather's uniform was given to me by my mother just before she passed away in 2005. Her father served in the Army from 1917-1919 that was "the war to end all wars". He took his basic training at Camp Roberts, CA . from there he was sent to Camp Handcock, GA. waiting there until the 1st Cas. Co.,1st Prov. Regt. of the Ordnance Corps was built up to strength before they were sent to France.

Merry Christmas to you petey and thanks for your comment.
really beautiful! my grandfather was in 1898 Span. Amer. War!
What a treasure you have, and so much history, by looking at it I see that it must be wool, also in such excellant shape for being so old.
hulalady56, When my mother was given my grandfather uniform, she stored it in a cedar chest wrapped it and sealed it in plastic bag. Yes it is made of wool and just think how hot that uniform was during the summer months.
Do you have any papers about him like his discharge? He has 3 battle stars on his ribbon bar so his WWI Victory Medal would have 3 bars on the ribbon. His collar brass says ordnance. Is that a crown on the patch on the right shoulder of the uniform?
