Militarist

I just found this neat photo in the Stevens Point, WI antique mall. This is a WWII couple with the husband being a sergeant in the 97th division and wearing a Combat Infantry Badge. Kind of sad to think that no one is left in the family that wanted the photo.
I know what you mean, Militarist. Although I love to find items I can trace to an individual soldier, I often wonder how is was that nobody in the family held on to them.
I've included several of my ancestor's names in my eBay searches. So far I've recovered one WWI victory medal named to a relative. I'm sure there are more out there.
Thanks guys. My guess is that there were no heirs and the whole house hold or estate went to one of those estate buyer liquidators.
