I was stationed in Germany when the Wall came down. Shortly after that, I drove to Berlin. There were still lots of Russian soldiers there, and they were selling all kinds of stuff just to make some money. I bought this hat from one of them. I don't remember exactly how much it was, but I do remember it wasn't much. It's a great memory, being a Cold War vet and buying this from "the enemy."
BEFORE the end of the Cold War and the Wall coming down, they brought pretty good money!

Now there are worthless, millions on the militaria market. But you are correct with that before the fall of the Berlin Wall, these brought good money
Sure you an find them everywhere now, but these Soviet hats are still quite beautiful, and represent an import era in history. Yours has a great story behind it, and the color is still very vibrant. Thanks for sharing!
