While going through my old photos I came across this one. At first I focused in on the man trying to figure out who he was," I still don't know for sure", but then I realized he was on a sky-lift next to George Washington or Thomas Jeffersons face, at what must be Mount Rushmore. Pretty awesome photo and would love to find out more about it. Just wondering if its a tourism photo or if its an original.

It is difinitely Gutzum Borglum. Probably a press release, he was a grand self promoter. There were probably hundreds of these distributed. I have also seen this image on a period postcard. I live just two miles from Mt Rushmore.

I love everything about researching items like this. Thank god for the internet, cause I would have thought it was a photo of a brave distant relative.
