I picked this up for my Oldest Sister and Brother in Law. They used to sing on the circuit with Stamps Quartet and became Friends with Them. From 1962

      musikchoo,
I remember hearing J.D. Sumner and the Stamps Quartet many years ago. J.D. Sumner had one of the lowest bass voices I've ever heard.

Yes, pw-collector, I remember sitting in a Church Pew and listening to the Stamps and J.D's Bass Voice was so low that it Rattled the wooden Pew I was sitting on! ( actually Vibrated under me !!)

Very interesting ARJason. I met Tim Storms while opening a show for Johnny Rod. in Branson many years ago. I remember I was really impressed with his bass singing. I don't remember what group he was with then, but they were Great. That is so cool that you and your Family are Good friends with him. I had no idea about him holding the record for the lowest note. I am sure he would'nt remember me, but he did make an impression on me. Thank you for jogging my memory of him and his Great talent.

Yes, they were the Stamps Baxter Quartet. My last name is Baxter, but I have'nt Explored any Connection. The Johnny Rod. show was , I believe, one of the last shows at the outside Amphitheater. This may give us an approximate date of the show. You are correct when you say It's a small World. I am one who believes that there are no coincidences and things happen for a reason! I am glad that our paths have crossed and hopefully, they will again. Thank You my Friend!!
