Here's my score for the day. It was in the garage on a table of junk, $1 price tag. Its called "Panier de Roses," from around 1912, when he was alive, has the "R" in the signature. Still has the original blue "accent" paint, not a single chip or fleabite ANYWHERE, just perfect. This is the kind of stuff I love to find, antique big-name, top-end decorative things.

What a treasure!~ A Lalique response to the Wiener Secessionist floral arrangements by Peche and Hoffmann. The detail on the rose petals is exquisite and the blue staining reminds us of the eternal search for the Blue Rose:

"In some cultures, blue roses are traditionally associated with royal blood, and thus the blue rose can also denote regal majesty and splendor. In Chinese folklore, the blue rose signifies hope against unattainable love.
Due to the absence in nature of blue roses they have come to symbolise mystery and longing to attain the impossible with some cultures go so far as to say that the holder of a blue rose will have his wishes granted."

      A treasure found!

Thanks V! I always love hearing from you, you're such a wealth of information and you've always got something interesting to add

Wow, about the blue rose, that makes it even more sexy! Its even more detailed when you see it in person, exquisite... I just love finding things like this.

The only price I could get was from Christie's in 1996, sold for $2,300. Not sure what the market has done since then, but a different one from the same era recently went for $8,300 on eBay. Wasn't even that great looking

I'm not sure what to do with it... Might hang onto it for a while, since I'm only into it for one dollar. Anyway, thank you very much for taking the time to provide your input, and I hope you had a good New Year

P.S. - Find anything good lately?

oh wow, what a great find - it is just beautiful! :) This is the kind of stuff I dream of. There is nothing better than finding treasures at a garage sale for such a small amount of money.

I bought a small vase on ebay yesterday.
      A total punt.
      Ozmarty put me onto it!
Won't know what it is until it arrives.

A one dollar find is amazing!
A great start to a new season.
      All the best.

Outstanding find. One of those moments you have to pinch yourself, just in case it's not true.
      Well done.
