      Only other thing I could guess is logging tool.

      See the little piece of paper at the bottom with writing on it? It's a smaller tool like a retractable caliper

      It from a crosscut saw /it holds the log in place. has a handle you pump to move saw.

      This popped up on another forum and has been identified as the clamp for a log saw.
