Kennedy '80 Campaign newspaper

At the 1980 Democratic National Convention, Ted Kennedy tried to challenge the rule that delegates had to cast votes for the candidates they were elected to vote for. He continued to campaign at the convention. He lost the challenge and in turn the nomination. Many critics say that Kennedy's late campaigning divided the party late and cost Carter and the Democrats the election.
