From what I can see this is a collection of short stories that had appeared in the Saturday Evening Post. Similar to Reader's Digest, this one is from 1945. I couldn't really find anything else on this piece. Were these produced for a long time? Could you buy them separately from the Saturday Evening Post? Worth anything? Any info is welcomed and appreciated! Thanks for lookin!

I have no idea where or when the Post Yarns periodcals first appeared. I have four different editions, 2 from 1944 and 2 from 1945. One of the 1944 covers has a GI on it so they may have been made for our service men and woman in WW II since the size is 4 1/2 by 3.

i bought a book for a quarter when i was 6 and the grandpa hopewell story was in it. the book was called "the bold and the brave" or the brave and the bold" and it also had "stormalong the sailor", a story about paul bunyan which i think mentioned the dismal soggers and whimpering wingdings, the story of pecos bill and others. i think i would have bought the book in 1956 but can't find any mention of it. best book ever along with the "merriam webster illustrated unabridged dictionary" of 1948.
