Love this little camera, but to be honest I don't really know much about it, bar that it was one of the first "covert" spy cameras?.. Any help or information would be greatly received! Thanks

This is a Minox model B (c1958 - 1971). It is the quintessential subminiature camera typically used in Hollywood for spy flicks. You've seen the movies; important papers are found and the spy pulls out a small camera to start taking pictures of the documents. Exposure advance is a push-pull action. And so forth.

The first Minox camera was made in Riga, Latvia in 1937 and finished production versions were available in 1938. The company went on to make a wide variety of these subminiature cameras that shot 8x11mm images on 9.5mm film.

This particular model is very common and the best known Minox camera. Although commonly termed a 'spy' camera, in reality it really wasn't as there were highly specialized cameras built for actual covert operations. Regardless, it's a really cute camera and fun to pull out when watching a movie with friends.

I found one of these at a yard sale about 10 years ago. I would like to sell it. It is a great collectors item.
